The ensemble cast for Tim Blake Nelson’s “Anesthesia” has been unveiled, with Deadline reporting that Corey Stoll is among the cast joining Kristen Stewart in the already-filming drama.
Sam Waterston has the lead role of Walter Zarrow, a charismatic Columbia University professor whose violent mugging brings together an eclectic group of New Yorkers. Glenn Close will play his wife, while Stoll plays an investment banker who witnesses the attack. Gretchen Mol plays Stoll’s wife, while Stewart, who will only film for a few days, plays a troubled student of Zarrow’s.
Stoll impressed as Ernest Hemingway in Woody Allen’s 2010 Oscar-nominatd “Midnight in Paris” and again most recently as tortured Congressman Peter Russo in Netflix series “House of Cards.” He recently wrapped up shooting on Gillian Flynn adaptation “Dark Places” opposite Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson thriller “Non-Stop” and ensemble family dramedy “This Is Where I Leave You” opposite Jason Bateman and Tina Fey.
